How To Mend A Broken Heart!
April 15th 2010 08:00
I was surfing around the web and somehow came across this book and these videos. I became intrigued with the subject matter because, let's face it, who hasn't felt like the world's biggest loser (and I'm not talking about fat either!) when that relationship you thought would last forever....didn't! I think that it takes a strong individual to completely wipe the slate clean and give the next person in your life an honest chance without carrying the crap of the last relationship into the new one (the author in the videos talks about that!) Personally, I try to be on "mental guard," meaning, not to say things like, "You know, my ex used to do that or "That reminds me of what my ex used to say!" Nobody wants to hear that (and believe me, I've had it happen!) That only tells the new person, one, that you have mental baggage i.e. still hurting from the last relationship and secondly, why are you constantly thinking of the other person? One should clear out all of the crap BEFORE engaging in another relationship. I know, it's hard because jumping into that next relationship before you heal from the last one is such an ego booster, so validating (someone likes me again! Hurray!) Yeah, I've been in those situations where something WILL remind me of an ex, but God forbid, I would not (or at least, TRY not) to VOICE it aloud, but mistakes do happen. Because no matter how well I "clean mental house," I am, after all, still human.
Better Love Next Time: How the Relationship that Didn't Last Can Lead You to the One that Will (Great title!) offers help in coping with the pain and heartache of a bad breakup but more than that, it reveals how to overcome the lingering damage that a broken relationship can leave behind (And some relationships can leave you feeling VERY damaged!) and how to heal your romantic soul. J.M. Kearns presents a simple (and entertaining) way to diagnose what went wrong, so history won''t have to repeat itself (Are YOU a loser magnet?) and explains how to decode the "guide to compatibility" written in your own past. Witty, frank, and full of real-life stories, Better Love Next Time ensures that when you do find a new love, you will arrive whole, renewed, and empowered to make it the one that lasts. But until YOU get the book, check out these interviews (videos below) with the author who gives great insight and advice!
